About the Role

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Principal Structural Design Engineer Offshore to join their team in Al Khobar, Eastern region. This full-time role involves leading the design, analysis, and integrity assessment of various offshore structures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes. The position requires a professional with extensive experience in offshore structural engineering.

Role Overview

The Principal Structural Design Engineer Offshore is responsible for overseeing the structural engineering aspects of offshore projects. This includes jackets, topsides, subsea structures, and floating systems. The role encompasses all project phases, from FEED and detailed design through installation and decommissioning, with a focus on technical leadership and adherence to Saudi Aramco Standards and international codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and advanced engineering analysis for offshore platforms and subsea systems.
• Perform global and local analyses, including in-place, loadout, lifting, fatigue, strength, buckling, and earthquake analysis.
• Review and approve structural calculations, drawings, and project documentation.
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet technical requirements, manhour budgets, and schedules.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including piping, instrumentation, mechanical, electrical, architectural, pipelines, and geotechnical engineers.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, and offshore construction activities.
• Develop and implement structural integrity management strategies for brownfield assets.
• Review Saudi Aramco standards and design codes (API RP 2A/2SIM, ISO 19900 series, DNV-GL standards) and ensure compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work.
• Perform single discipline checks on drawings and documents.
• Perform inter-discipline checks on drawings and documents.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in offshore structural engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in leading design, analysis, and integrity assessment of offshore structures.
• Proficiency in relevant international codes and standards, including Saudi Aramco Standards, API RP 2A/2SIM, ISO 19900 series, and DNV-GL standards.
• Experience across various project phases: FEED, detailed design, installation, and decommissioning.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, collaborating with various teams to deliver complex offshore projects.
