The Role of Avionic Maintenance Technician

We are seeking an Avionic Maintenance Technician for a full-time position. This role is crucial for supporting the maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and the training of RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel. The primary objective is to ensure the provision of operationally capable aircraft in support of King Fahad Air Academy (KFAA) pilot training programmes. The role involves comprehensive aircraft servicing, fault troubleshooting and rectification, modifications, and detailed inspections and evaluations of aircraft systems and components. Candidates should have 5-10 years of relevant experience, and a competitive salary is offered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical specialty support in the evaluation, interpretation, determination of requisite corrective actions, and performance/operational status of specialty-specific aircraft systems, components, and test-support equipment at the Intermediate level maintenance of PC-21 aircraft.
  • Achieve and maintain Production Inspections signatory capability for authorised specific trade certifications.
  • Obtain and maintain certifications to support specialty and aircraft maintenance functions.
  • Prepare items for calibration within the designated work area.
  • Carry out Technical Compliance Time Orders (TCTO’s) and Special inspections when directed.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of Aircraft Safety devices and Aircraft operating areas.
  • Ensure compliance with tool control procedures and the KFAA SAFO program.
  • Support deployments to other bases within and outside KSA when required, and prepare equipment for these deployments.
  • Monitor all supply issues affecting the Jet engine aircraft Elect/Avionics Shop.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive post-qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment, supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training; OR experience on the same aircraft type; OR successful completion of a BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/TSNTTP).
  • A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, a technical apprenticeship, or a suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA.
  • Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment-specific training, if required.
  • Saudi Engineering Council (SEC) Registration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering principles.
  • Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety, and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge

  • Broad knowledge of the Aerospace and defence company/industry.
  • An understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures.
  • A sound understanding of the RSAF 4-1-7166 series and applicable supporting technical publications for the work area.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Document Management Systems (DMS), and an understanding of M&CA processes.
