The Role of Android Developer

Astek Middle East is seeking a skilled Android Developer to join a client's team in Al Qassim, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position focused on developing high-quality, scalable, and reliable Android applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Kotlin and modern Android technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Android applications.
• Develop Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android development frameworks.
• Integrate mobile applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Participate in application architecture and technical design discussions.
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and testable code following Android development best practices.
• Collaborate with Product, UX/UI, Business Analysis, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to development standards and code quality.
• Troubleshoot application crashes, performance issues, and other technical problems.
• Contribute to automated build, testing, and deployment processes for Android applications.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in Android application development.
• Candidates with 5+ years of experience are preferred.
• Candidates with 3+ years of relevant experience may be considered if they demonstrate strong technical capabilities and practical Android development experience.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and modern Android development frameworks.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and backend service integration.

Location and Prioritization

This role is based in Al Qassim, Saudi Arabia. Candidates currently residing in Al Qassim will receive priority consideration. Candidates residing elsewhere may be considered if they are willing to relocate to Al Qassim for this full-time position.
