Field Operator

About the Role

Acwa China is seeking a Field Operator to join their team in Al Qassim. This full-time role involves monitoring plant operating parameters locally and coordinating with the Central Control Room (CCR) Operator on all activities affecting plant operations. The Field Operator is responsible for the safe start-up and shutdown of the plant in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety rules and regulations and maintain familiarity with firefighting equipment in the assigned area.
• Follow instructions from the Shift Supervisor, Shift Charge Engineer, and CCR Operator.
• Understand plant P&IDs, SOPs, work instructions, basic control logic, and emergency operating procedures.
• Monitor operating parameters, record periodic readings on log sheets, and summarize all shift activities and events in the logbook.
• Inspect assigned areas and auxiliary equipment during the shift to ensure parameters remain within acceptable limits and report abnormalities to the CCR Operator.
• Perform equipment changeovers according to schedules and raise work requests or defect notifications for faulty equipment.
• Coordinate with the CCR Operator and Shift Supervisor for equipment and system isolation and line-up before and after maintenance.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the work area and ensure proper clean-up after maintenance.
• Adhere to approved Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions.
• Assist in the training and familiarization of new operators.
• Report near misses and implement prescribed risk controls.
• Report deviations related to the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System.
• Ensure proper waste disposal measures are followed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in plant operations.
• Demonstrated understanding of plant operating procedures and safety protocols.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Qassim, requiring on-site presence to monitor and manage plant operations effectively.
