About the Role

Airbus is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Customer Line) to join their team in Al Qatif. This full-time role is within the A320 Customer Line Team, focusing on providing support to operations. The position requires 2-5 years of experience.

Role Summary

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is responsible for all aircraft maintenance activities during the Customer Line Phase, from First Off Test (FOT) to Handover (Flightline Phase) and from Handover to Transfer of Accountable Custody (TAC)/Transfer of Title (TOT) (Delivery Phase). This role serves as the technical focal point for open items from Aircraft Logbooks (ALBs), Quality Logbooks (QLBs), Non-Conformities (NCs), Out of Service Work (OSW), and other anomalies, supporting the Customer Line Operational Team. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining Work Orders, managing Aircraft Storage procedures, responding to technical inquiries, and reviewing Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM) and drawings, particularly for mechanical and electrical items. The AME also participates in the preparation for aircraft delivery to the final customer, from Permit to Fly until Transfer of Title, including any Part 145 activities as per customer request and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle anomalies within assigned areas (Cabin, Systems, Electrics, or Structures), create specific work instructions for Flight Line rework, establish/verify the technical content of anomalies, and validate documentation.
  • Provide technical support to Flight Line technicians and the Multi Functional Team on all issues, including oversight of directed changes.
  • Identify and validate Workshare for all items assigned in the ALB and NC transfer to determine Airbus and Supplier responsibilities.
  • Create NC/S03 as needed for traceability requirements for all Corrective Actions (CAs).
  • Initiate availability of replacement parts, jigs, and tools required for work.
  • Manage continuous improvement measures for recurrent anomalies in cooperation with quality.
  • Analyze current status, create reports, and exchange information with local and European colleagues.
  • Support the milestones necessary for the delivery of the aircraft to the final customer.
  • Create, monitor, and maintain both standard and non-standard work orders needed in Customer Line.
  • Act as a representative and leader for AME Customer Line in projects and meetings as required.
  • Communicate with European colleagues at other manufacturing sites for guidance on repeat or complex issues.
  • Monitor all outstanding paperwork topics on aircraft and review ALB for items within responsibility.
  • Act as a focal point for internal and external Audits (*, EASA).
  • Participate as an active team member to support Manufacturing Activities in the Flight Line.
  • Secure the training of newcomers to cover all aspects of aircraft maintenance and manufacturing engineering activities.
  • Responsible for incorporating all Design Solutions (DS) and design intent into legible work instructions and refining them in terms of language, level of detail, and responsibility to ensure operations have correct information for aircraft build.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Delegate for Head of AME as required.

Work Environment

The Airbus * Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft, located at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley, produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Engineers at this facility work with production teams on all aspects of assembly, from managing technical information and quality control to maintenance tasks and health & safety, across flowlines and flightlines.
