The Role of AGE Technician

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking an AGE Technician for a full-time position in Dhahran. This role involves providing day-to-day support for the TSS AGE Shop, ensuring compliance with engineering practices and technical orders, and maintaining critical aircraft ground equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient day-to-day support for the TSS AGE Shop operations.
  • Maintain good engineering practices and ensure compliance with RSAF Technical Orders.
  • Prepare items for calibration within the designated work area.
  • Diagnose AGE issues using appropriate test equipment and technical publications.
  • Maintain servicing records for all Tornado dedicated AGE items.
  • Execute TCTOs and Special Inspections as directed.
  • Ensure adherence to tool control processes and procedures.
  • Offer functional guidance to SNTTP programs regarding engineering issues.
  • Monitor all supply issues impacting the TSS AGE Shop.
  • Provide updated briefings and information on daily progress and highlight any issues affecting TSS AGE Shop output.
  • Report and encourage expedient Error Management Reporting, addressing or escalating safety concerns immediately.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve TSS service delivery and foster a Continuous Improvement culture.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential:
  • A recognized qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, a technical apprenticeship, or an equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA. Alternatively, a current or lapsed Part 66 license or equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.
  • Relevant type training (Q Course) and specific training if required.
  • Saudi Council of Engineering (SCE) Registration.
  • At least 5 years of post-qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment, supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training, OR 3 years on the same aircraft type, OR successful completion of a BAESSA apprenticeship program (SNTTP/TSNTTP).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering.
  • Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety, and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role.
  • Desirable:
  • Broad aerospace and defense company/industry knowledge.
  • An understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures.
  • Ability to understand and use the Maintenance GoldESP system or a similar platform.
  • Full conversance with the interpretation of technical diagrams and documentation.

This full-time position is based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, requiring an individual with 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field. The role operates within a dynamic environment supporting the Saudi armed forces.
