What You Will Be Doing:
- Assist in directing and controlling the whole food production under the guidance of the Sous Chef.
- Share ideas, opinions, and suggestions to improve the environment and menus.
- Ensure consistency in the preparation of all food items according to property recipes and standards.
- Communicate effectively with the team and seek guest feedback.
- Assist in developing and implementing standards, recipes, portion sizes, and costing.
- Support kitchen operation and handle daily market lists and inter-kitchen transfers as needed.
- Check and taste all food items in accordance with Executive Chef’s specifications.
- Maintain minimal food waste through proper management of food rotation and storage.
- Adhere to Food Safety guidelines to ensure safe handling, storage, and preparation of food.
- Keep kitchen work area clean and organized, ensuring equipment is functional.
- Promote teamwork and morale within the kitchen and with other departments.
Qualifications:
- 46 years of cooking experience, including at least 2 years in luxury hotels.
- Food Safety Certificate or recognized international equivalent required.
- Proficiency in a la carte and production cooking.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, innovative and detail-oriented.
Physical Aspects of the Position:
- Constant standing and walking throughout shifts.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of heavy items.
- Regular kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
- Frequent climbing of ladders, stairs, and ramps.
