About the Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Manager, Security I to join its team in Medina, Madinah. This full-time role involves assisting the Director of Security in managing daily security operations, focusing on the protection and safety of property assets, employees, and guests. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing emergency procedures and recommending follow-up actions for security breaches.
  • Conduct investigations of property asset losses and refer to management for disposition.
  • Deploy security staff to effectively monitor and protect property assets, ensuring continuous protection of guests, employees, and hotel assets.
  • Comply with all Corporate Security safety and security management guidelines and procedures.
  • Complete proper documentation and report all employee accident and general liability incidents.
  • Conduct periodic patrols of the entire property and parking areas, maintaining required reports and documentation.
  • Identify and recommend ways to minimize physical hazards and unsafe work practices, implementing action plans to monitor and control risk.
  • Handle guest problems and complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts.
  • Inspect all security equipment to ensure full functionality.
  • Maintain logs, certifications, and documents required by law and Standard Operating Procedures, including first aid and CPR certifications.
  • Implement local authority requirements for security and safety.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Attend meetings to understand group needs and communicate critical information to security officers.
  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage team members, advocating sound financial/business decision-making.
  • Solicit employee feedback, utilize an "open door" policy, and review employee satisfaction results to address concerns.
  • Identify developmental needs of others, coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping to improve knowledge or skills.
  • Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Conduct hourly employee performance appraisals and complete disciplinary procedures according to SOPs and LSOPs.

Customer Service and Human Resources

  • Display leadership in guest hospitality, exemplify excellent customer service, and create a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service and meet quality standards.
  • Assist in minimizing the cost of accident claims through aggressive claims management.
  • Administer property policies fairly and consistently, bringing issues to the attention of Human Resources as necessary.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solutions and solve problems.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with local law enforcement authorities.
  • Inform and/or update executives, peers, and subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner.
  • Provide guidance in setting health and safety policies and standards.
  • Coordinate with Event Sales for VIP escort and media control for large events.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in security operations, preferably within the hospitality sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage security operations and lead a team effectively.
  • Strong understanding of accident and fire prevention, emergency procedures, and safety management guidelines.
  • Proficiency in maintaining required reports, documentation, and certifications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with guests, employees, and external authorities.
