About the Internship Opportunity

Rua Al Madinah Holding is offering an internship opportunity for an Environmental Specialist as part of the Tamheer Program. This role is based in Medina, Al Madinah Al Munawwarah region, and is designed for individuals with 0-1 years of experience seeking to gain practical knowledge in environmental management within a large-scale development context.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Environmental Specialist Intern will support the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSSE) policies and procedures to ensure alignment with corporate, national, and international standards. This role involves actively participating in environmental initiatives and contributing to the development of a safe operational environment within Rua Al Madinah Holding.

• Assist in identifying environmental impact factors inherent in the organization's operations and propose guidelines for enhancement.
• Participate in environmental inspections and tests to gain familiarity with company procedures, specific environmental issues, regulations, and practices, ensuring adherence to international standards.
• Support the oversight of environmental inspections, audits, and monitoring of site activities to evaluate compliance against the HSSE management system and environmental regulations.
• Provide technical support to project teams on environmental matters and reviews.
• Contribute to the development of environmental training programs and awareness initiatives to foster continuous improvement in HSSE awareness.
• Assist in ensuring the implementation of a rigorous environmental incident investigation process and appropriate corrective actions.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of the company's Environmental Management System.
• Help assess, communicate, and monitor environmental performance and compliance against applicable HSSE regulations.
• Review environmental reports and analyze incident statistics to identify trends and suggest improvements.
• Communicate relevant legislation, regulatory updates, best practices, and standards issued by government agencies.
• Contribute to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of functional systems, processes, and practices, considering international best practices, business process enhancement, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
• Assist in monitoring and analyzing HSSE compliance performance data across organizational functions and service providers.
• Support the tracking of compliance trends, audit findings, and the preparation of performance dashboards and regulatory reports.
• Aid in maintaining compliance databases and documentation systems for HSSE audit and inspection activities.
• Support audit activities and document compliance assessments with detailed analysis and recommendations.
• Analyze compliance data to identify trends, gaps, and provide improvement recommendations.

Qualifications and Eligibility

To be considered for this internship, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken Arabic and English.
• Have no prior professional experience required.
• Be eligible for the Tamheer Program.
