Supervisor Stewards

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Supervisor-Stewards to join their team in Medina. This full-time position involves directing and assisting stewards to ensure efficient cleanup operations and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety within the kitchen environment. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and assist stewards to optimize cleanup efficiency.
• Ensure and document appropriate water temperature and chemical levels for cleaning.
• Assist with banquet plate-ups and support cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed.
• Provide cooks with necessary items and support banquet and buffet operations by transporting and ensuring adequate stock.
• Return cleaned items to their designated locations.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
• Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete required safety training and certifications.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests’ service needs.
• Communicate professionally and clearly with others.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues; support the team in achieving common goals.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
• Perform physical tasks including moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Ability to direct and assist a team effectively.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemical handling, and equipment operation.
• Strong commitment to safety and security protocols.
• Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical capability to perform job duties including lifting and extended periods of standing/walking.
