**Job Summary:**
The host/hostess greets guests at the restaurant or establishment and guides them to their seating areas. Contributes to providing a wonderful experience for customers by delivering professional and warm service. The role is vital in creating a positive first impression of the service.
**Main Responsibilities:**
1. **Greet Guests:**
- Welcome visitors with a smile and warm greeting.
- Confirm guest reservations and direct them to their tables.
2. **Manage Reservations:**
- Organize and update the daily reservation list to ensure efficient management of space.
- Handle special requests or changes to the reservation.
3. **Guide Guests:**
- Accompany guests to their seating and ensure their comfort.
- Provide menus for food or beverages and ensure their initial needs are met.
4. **Coordinate with Team:**
- Coordinate with staff in the department to ensure smooth service flow.
- Notify the manager or team of any issues or needs that guests may encounter.
5. **Handle Complaints:**
- Address guest inquiries or complaints professionally and effectively.
- Ensure that any issues are resolved quickly to maintain customer satisfaction.
6. **Monitor Seating:**
- Monitor the number of available or reserved tables to ensure effective space allocation.
- Ensure guest comfort throughout their stay.
7. **Maintain Order and Cleanliness:**
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the reception and tables area.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining the area before and after customer service.
**Required Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in hospitality or reception is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to handle customers.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Good knowledge of reservation systems or hospitality-specific computer programs.
