About KBR and the Role
KBR, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Static) to join its team in Makkah, specifically covering operations in Rabigh and Makkah. This full-time position is within KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS), which delivers comprehensive solutions across the asset lifecycle, including licensed process technologies, advisory services, technical expertise, and design capabilities.
Role Overview
The Mechanical Engineer (Static) will be responsible for overseeing daily maintenance activities for static mechanical equipment within a petrochemical plant. This role ensures that all maintenance tasks—corrective, preventive, and predictive—are executed by contractors in compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, thereby contributing to sector availability, reliability, and operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of all assigned maintenance jobs by contractors for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems in the petrochemical plant, ensuring adherence to company standards.
- Provide regular updates and reports within the CMMS system regarding maintenance execution.
- Offer necessary support to the planning and scheduling supervisor for maintenance activities.
- Support the company's reliability department by assisting with bad actor analysis.
- Prepare weekly reports and present findings in maintenance meetings.
- Review and enhance the knowledge of personnel through job-specific training, coordinating with the Head of HR.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety requirements during the job execution phase.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant mechanical engineering role, preferably within the petrochemical industry.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and oversee maintenance activities for static mechanical equipment.
- Proficiency in CMMS systems for maintenance reporting and tracking.
- Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and quality regulations in an industrial setting.
Work Environment and Location
This is a full-time position based in the Makkah region, with operational responsibilities extending to Rabigh and Makkah. The role involves working within a petrochemical plant environment, collaborating with contractors and internal departments to ensure operational excellence.
