Static Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

Saudi Aramco is seeking a Static Mechanical Engineer to join the Jafurah Gas Plant Engineering Division (JGPED) within the Jafurah Gas Plant Department (JGPD). This full-time role focuses on static and piping activities, including studies and design modifications within operating facilities.

The Jafurah Gas Plant Department

The Jafurah Gas Plant Department is responsible for the processing of feed gas to produce sales gas, condensate, and C2+NGL. The Static Mechanical Engineer will contribute to the engineering division supporting these operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and implement opportunities for operational optimization.
• Provide technical direction and support to design contractors, both in-kingdom and out-of-kingdom.
• Formulate and implement long-term strategies to enhance operations and reduce costs.
• Lead engineering groups in the normal operations of existing plants.
• Participate in standards reviews to ensure the inclusion of practical requirements for field operation and maintenance, focusing on plant safety and efficiency.
• Provide guidance on standards development through technical committee participation, interpreting standards and recommending changes to reduce costs associated with overly stringent requirements.
• Perform Management of Change (MOC) procedures.
• Verify system operations and performance following the implementation of recommendations.
• Provide daily technical support to operation and maintenance teams for troubleshooting and repair of piping and static equipment.
• Manage static and piping activities, including studies and design modifications in operating facilities.
• Review project proposals and detailed design packages for new and existing facilities.
• Develop static and piping engineering design packages for site modifications, ensuring full compliance with company standards.
• Perform and review stress analysis for piping.
• Ensure compliance for piping and flange material selection.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized and approved program, with a specialty in static equipment.
• 10-15 years of experience in Static Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency in engineering and design principles related to static and piping engineering.
• Experience or certification in CAESAR II software (a mechanical stationary piping simulation software) is a mandatory requirement.
• Demonstrated detailed knowledge of industry standards and procedures, including American Petroleum Institute (API) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) codes, necessary for reviewing company standards, project reviews, and implementing plant modifications to process systems.
• Ability to direct, coordinate, advise, and technically support the sustainment of asset integrity and reliability for a wide range of piping and static equipment.
