Inspector I QC Coating

About the Role

International Maritime Industries is seeking an Inspector I QC Coating to join their team in Ras Tannurah, Eastern region. This is a contract position requiring 5-10 years of relevant experience. The role focuses on ensuring the quality and compliance of coating and blasting activities across various projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare coating procedures for projects during both the bid and award stages.
• Monitor HSEQ standards and productivity for all blasting and painting activities within the yard, including the qualification of coating personnel.
• Manage coating procedure qualification activities to ensure adherence to project-specific and company requirements.
• Oversee the storage of painting materials and consumables, ensuring compliance with all necessary requirements such as A/C and explosion-proof lighting systems for controlled storage, as per manufacturer datasheets or technical specifications.
• Plan, identify, and order coating/painting consumables for projects in advance.
• Monitor subcontractors to ensure that materials and consumables used for coating and painting activities conform to client specifications.
• Review bid documentation as assigned by the QC Manager, highlighting costs related to blasting and coating.
• Assist in identifying sub-standard blasting/coating materials or other potential areas of concern.
• Liaise with project management, clients, and other departments (*, Production, Planning, Engineering) to communicate blasting/coating related risks and opportunities during bid and execution phases.
• Interpret various coating codes, standards, and client specifications, and support other functions in ensuring compliance.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in quality control for coating.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and manage coating procedures.
• Experience in monitoring HSEQ standards and subcontractor performance.
• Proficiency in interpreting coating codes, standards, and client specifications.

This role is based in Ras Tannurah, Eastern region, and operates on a contract basis. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic environment, collaborating with various internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure project quality and compliance.
