The Role of Compliance Assessment Senior Specialist

The Compliance Assessment Senior Specialist operates with minimal supervision, working within established guidelines and procedures. This role is central to developing and maintaining the Authority's compliance framework. The specialist will continuously identify non-compliant risks and cases, ensuring they are tackled and resolved effectively, and contribute to the completion of operational targets within their assigned functional area.

Core Responsibilities

  • Study international best practices in internal compliance and develop ZATCA's compliance strategy, including a detailed action plan incorporating lessons learned.
  • Assess ZATCA's external legislative environment, identify applicable regulatory requirements and obligations, and evaluate their implications on internal policies, procedures, and operations.
  • Review all ZATCA practices to identify potential legal non-compliance cases and implement preventive actions.
  • Develop and execute plans for solving compliance issues in a timely and efficient manner upon occurrence.
  • Identify non-compliance risks and their potential impact on ZATCA, develop corresponding mitigation plans, and ensure their proper implementation.
  • Define and implement preventive actions for problematic issues, considering general guidance from top management to avoid similar situations in the future.
  • Coordinate compliance activities with other departments to stay informed on status and identify trends.
  • Raise awareness about applicable rules and regulations and promote a compliance culture within ZATCA through periodical trainings and lectures.
  • Develop and nurture productive relationships with local and international compliance committees to continuously enhance ZATCA practices.
  • Develop periodic and ad-hoc reports reflecting ZATCA's compliance status, identified issues, corrective and preventive actions taken, and highlight areas for improvement based on lessons learned.

Operational Support and Development

  • Follow all relevant policies, processes, and standard operating procedures to ensure work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Assist in solving escalated problems and provide necessary support for junior team members to ensure efficient work execution.
  • Escalate complex problems to the relevant personnel to ensure issues are closed properly.
  • Perform other duties as requested to support departmental objectives.
  • Train junior staff on different job activities to ensure transfer of knowledge, when applicable.
  • Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign and delegate responsibility, and monitor the workflow of subordinates or junior staff.
  • Support junior staff or direct reports in executing their duties according to set policies and processes.

Experience Requirements

Candidates for this Compliance Assessment Senior Specialist position are required to have 0-1 years of relevant professional experience. The role demands an individual capable of operating effectively within established guidelines and procedures, demonstrating a proactive approach to compliance assessment and framework development.
