About the Role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Design Manager Architect for a full-time position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves leading architectural design and coordination for high-end luxury construction projects. The successful candidate will oversee the entire design process, ensuring the successful integration of luxury standards, aesthetics, and functional requirements from concept to completion.

Design Leadership and Project Coordination

The Design Manager Architect will provide leadership and strategic direction for architectural and interior design initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead architectural and interior design for luxury hospitality projects, ensuring alignment with client vision, luxury standards, and operational requirements.
  • Develop innovative design concepts reflecting global luxury trends, guest experience enhancements, and brand-specific aesthetics.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to design teams, ensuring high-quality outcomes and consistency.
  • Collaborate with international consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to integrate all design aspects (architecture, interiors, MEP, and landscaping).
  • Act as the key point of contact between the client, design teams, and PMC project management, ensuring clear communication and objective alignment.
  • Lead design coordination meetings to resolve technical and design challenges.

Design Execution and Quality Assurance

This role focuses on the meticulous execution of design elements and adherence to stringent quality standards:

  • Manage the selection and specification of high-end materials, finishes, furnishings, and bespoke design elements.
  • Ensure design elements align with operational requirements for luxury hospitality, including functionality, comfort, and efficiency, while maintaining superior aesthetics.
  • Oversee the development of detailed design documentation and construction drawings, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
  • Implement rigorous quality control processes, ensuring compliance with international luxury standards and client-specific brand requirements.
  • Regularly review design deliverables, providing feedback and ensuring project milestones are met on time and within budget.
  • Ensure design elements comply with local and international building codes, sustainability requirements, and PMC quality protocols.

Client Engagement and Strategic Alignment

The Design Manager Architect will maintain strong client relationships and ensure project alignment with strategic objectives:

  • Serve as the primary liaison with the client, ensuring their project vision is fully understood and realized.
  • Prepare and present design proposals, concepts, and updates to the client, incorporating feedback while maintaining design integrity.
  • Manage client expectations throughout the project lifecycle, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the PMC project management team to align design solutions with project budgets and timelines.
  • Review cost estimates for design elements, ensuring financial viability while meeting luxury project requirements.
  • Integrate sustainable design practices and technologies, enhancing environmental performance and guest experience without sacrificing luxury.
  • Stay updated with global hospitality design trends, cutting-edge technologies, and innovative design solutions.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum of 16+ years of experience in architectural and interior design management, with a strong focus on luxury hospitality projects.
  • Extensive experience working with international companies and managing global projects, particularly in the luxury sector.
  • Proven experience working in a PMC environment, with a deep understanding of PMC processes and client-focused project delivery.
  • Strong understanding of luxury hospitality design standards, including high-end materials, custom finishes, and bespoke furnishings.
  • Knowledge of international building codes, sustainability practices, and hospitality operations.
  • Experience working with globally recognized hospitality brands or luxury hotel chains.
  • A deep understanding of international luxury hospitality standards and brand identity requirements.

Work Setting

This is a full-time position located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
