Mechanical CAD Draftsman

About the Role

Saudi Consulting Services - SAUD CONSULT is seeking an experienced Mechanical CAD Draftsman to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves preparing accurate mechanical and shop drawings for various building and construction projects, with a focus on HVAC, plumbing, and fire fighting systems, utilizing AutoCAD.

Role Overview

As a Mechanical CAD Draftsman, you will collaborate with mechanical engineers to translate designs and preliminary sketches into precise technical drawings. Your work will ensure compliance with approved specifications and industry codes. The position requires coordination with other engineering disciplines and the ability to update drawings based on feedback and site conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical and shop drawings for buildings and projects using AutoCAD.
• Draft HVAC layouts, including duct and pipe routes.
• Develop plumbing and drainage drawings.
• Prepare fire fighting network drawings.
• Draft pump room and mechanical equipment layouts.
• Coordinate mechanical drawings with architectural, structural, and electrical drawings to identify and resolve clashes.
• Convert hand sketches and preliminary designs into accurate digital drawings.
• Prepare As-Built drawings based on site data and execution.
• Revise and update drawings according to feedback from engineers, consultants, and clients.
• Extract preliminary quantities for ducts, pipes, and equipment as required.
• Ensure compliance with approved codes and standards, such as SBC 501, SBC 701, and Civil Defense requirements.
• Organize and archive drawings and files in adherence to the document control system.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Engineering Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent with proven practical experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in mechanical CAD drafting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and architectural drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of mechanical symbols and principles of duct and pipe routing.
