Planning Manager

About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Planning Manager to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves leading planning activities for assigned projects, identifying schedule trends, and providing innovative solutions to scheduling challenges. The Planning Manager will ensure timely schedule updates and manage all reporting requirements, playing a crucial role in project success and scheduling efficiency.

Project Context: Expo 2030 Riyadh

The Expo 2030 Riyadh is a global platform focused on sustainable development, innovation, and transformative thinking, under the theme “Foresight for Tomorrow.” Scheduled from October 2030 to March 2031, the event anticipates over 40 million visits. Bechtel will manage the infrastructure program for the 6 km2 Masterplan, which includes early works, utilities, and public spaces. This site will transition into a mixed-use legacy development post-event, leveraging international sustainability standards for urban afforestation, treated water, and energy sources.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed staffing plans for planning and scheduling activities.
• Review design scope criteria and quantities, performing in-depth analysis to identify project schedule impacts.
• Develop additional estimating bases when information is incomplete and recommend action plans to mitigate schedule risks and gaps.
• Contribute to the maintenance, improvement, integration, and major updates of the Client Project Development and Execution main schedule.
• Organize the work scope for all workstreams into the total project plan and conduct regular reviews of project scope in schedules, including establishing conceptual scope for schedule studies.
• Establish milestones for the total project or major portions and ensure project work activities support these milestones.
• Organize the timely, systematic, and complete acquisition of scope definition and related data.
• Review performing organizations' work logics to ensure schedules adequately support the overall project schedule.
• Plan, organize, and establish appropriate quantification levels for objectives and scope definition, designating reference jobs for source data and quantity reconciliations.
• Supervise schedule resource loading and leveling, and organize the development of bulk commodity release and installation curves.
• Integrate appropriate workforce requirements for each discipline/specialty relative to overall project needs.
• Engage with other Clusters and Stakeholders to manage key interfaces and ensure their incorporation into the project schedule.
• Obtain required schedule information from all disciplines, identify schedule restraints, and ensure understanding of total project schedule needs across departments.
• Ensure total integration of schedule activities and identify schedule considerations and problems from interdisciplinary or group restraints and interfaces.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in planning and scheduling activities.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing planning teams and activities.
• Strong analytical skills to identify schedule trends and develop innovative solutions.
• Proficiency in managing schedule updates and reporting requirements.
