About the Role

Salt is seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead the delivery of technology products and transformation initiatives within the banking, fintech, and financial services sectors. This is a hands-on contract role based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, requiring 5-10 years of relevant experience. The Product Owner will work at the intersection of business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners to translate complex requirements into scalable digital solutions. This role involves owning the product backlog, shaping priorities, and guiding initiatives from initial discovery through development, launch, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will possess strong product management skills combined with a solid understanding of financial services technology and customer journeys. This position suits a commercially minded product professional who can understand wider strategy while managing delivery requirements, challenging technical teams, and ensuring successful product launches. The role focuses on solving complex problems, managing multiple stakeholders, and delivering technology that creates measurable value for customers and the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of digital products and technology initiatives across banking and financial services.
• Define the product vision, roadmap, and priorities in partnership with business and technology leadership.
• Lead discovery workshops to understand customer needs, operational challenges, and commercial objectives.
• Translate business requirements into clear epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery plans.
• Build, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, customer impact, and technical dependencies.
• Work closely with engineering, architecture, UX, data, cybersecurity, and operations teams.
• Coordinate delivery across internal teams, technology vendors, and third-party partners.
• Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, product demonstrations, and release-readiness activities.
• Ensure solutions meet relevant security, risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Use customer feedback, analytics, and performance data to drive continuous product improvement.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer journeys, automate manual processes, and increase operational efficiency.
• Manage senior stakeholders and provide clear updates on progress, priorities, risks, and dependencies.

Required Experience and Skills

• Proven experience (5-10 years) as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Digital Product Lead.
• Strong experience delivering technology products or transformation projects within banking, fintech, payments, or financial services.
• Experience working with Agile delivery teams and managing product backlogs.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and digital product delivery.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical and functional deliverables.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams across product, engineering, architecture, data, security, and operations.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge priorities and influence senior decision-makers.
• Experience managing technology vendors, integration partners, or third-party platforms.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to prioritize initiatives based on value, impact, and feasibility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar product delivery platforms.
