Quality Assurance Engineer

About the Role

Gathern is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Riyadh Province. This full-time role focuses on ensuring the delivery of reliable and high-performing software products. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering, product management, and design teams to validate features, report issues, and maintain high quality standards across applications and services.

Role Contribution

The Quality Assurance Engineer will contribute to QA activities through both manual and automated testing. This role involves participation in Agile ceremonies and supporting initiatives to enhance testing processes and feature delivery. Candidates should be detail-oriented and possess a desire to develop within a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to test features and report issues effectively.
• Execute manual test cases and support the development of automated tests for mobile and backend platforms.
• Validate features during sprints and contribute to regression and exploratory testing cycles.
• Document bugs and test results in Jira with clarity and context.
• Participate in sprint planning and backlog grooming to provide a QA perspective.
• Support QA team initiatives aimed at improving test coverage and reducing bug leakage.
• Utilize tools such as Firebase, Datadog, and Postman to validate backend behavior, error rates, and application stability.
• Adhere to and contribute to QA processes throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications and Experience

• 1-3 years of experience in Quality Assurance.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and a curious approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to automation frameworks (*, Appium, Postman, Cypress).
• Familiarity with AI tools (*, ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot) for supporting test case generation, exploratory testing, test data creation, and bug analysis.
• Interest in AI-driven QA, automation, and emerging tools that enhance testing efficiency and software quality.
• Knowledge of QA metrics and reporting tools.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, GitHub, or TestRail.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, where the Quality Assurance Engineer will work within a collaborative team environment, contributing to the development and delivery of Gathern's products.
