About the Steward Role at W Hotels

W Hotels is seeking a dedicated Steward to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position is essential for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and operational efficiency within our kitchen and storeroom areas. The role is suitable for individuals with 0-1 years of experience, offering an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment and tools, including dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen and storeroom areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Receive deliveries, ensure proper storage of perishables, and rotate stock to maintain freshness and organization.
• Store clean wares in designated appropriate areas.
• Follow all company, safety, and security policies and procedures, reporting any maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to management.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Protect company assets and ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.

Operational Duties and Cleaning Protocols

• Utilize detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in a 3-compartment sink for dish cleaning.
• Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items, returning soiled items for re-scrubbing and re-washing as needed.
• Rack and spray all racked items with hot water to effectively loosen and remove food residue.
• Sort, soak, and wash/re-wash silverware, and break down dirty bus tubs.
• Empty and maintain trashcans and the dumpster area, disposing of glass in proper containers.
• Clean and mop all areas within assigned departments.
• Break down cardboard boxes and other recyclables for the recycle bin.

Workplace Conduct and Physical Requirements

• Communicate professionally and clearly with colleagues.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships, supporting the team to achieve common goals.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.
• Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Steward position should have 0-1 years of relevant experience. No high school diploma or *** equivalent is required for this role. Additionally, prior supervisory experience or any specific license or certification is not a prerequisite.
