Role Summary
Red Sea Global Hospitality is seeking a Chief Accountant to join its team in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves supporting the Finance Manager in ensuring the efficient and effective management of the hotel's financial operations. The Chief Accountant will be instrumental in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies, and providing timely financial reporting to support sound business decisions. The role requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.
The Chief Accountant will collaborate with operational departments, corporate finance, auditors, suppliers, and external stakeholders to maintain robust financial controls and support the property's financial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Finance Manager in overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with IFRS, company policies, and hospitality accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities, ensuring all deadlines are achieved.
- Review journal entries, accruals, amortizations, and adjustments for accuracy, and monitor the integrity of the general ledger, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in maintaining effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
- Review monthly account reconciliations, including bank, balance sheet, intercompany, and clearing accounts, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items.
- Support VAT, tax, statutory reporting, and other regulatory compliance requirements, coordinating with internal and external auditors.
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities to ensure timely processing of invoices, collections, and payments.
- Review supplier payments, employee reimbursements, petty cash, and expense claims for compliance with company policies.
- Monitor cash flow requirements and support daily treasury and banking activities, assisting in managing working capital.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, analyzing financial performance and recommending corrective actions.
- Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and KPI analyses to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Partner with operational departments, providing financial guidance on budgeting, purchasing, inventory control, and cost management.
- Supervise and support members of the Finance team, providing coaching, training, and guidance, and acting on behalf of the Finance Manager during periods of absence.
- Support hotel openings, operational transitions, and special finance projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant accounting role.
- Professional accounting certification (*, SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, CMA, ACA, or CA) is preferred.
- Experience in luxury hotels, resorts, or internationally branded hospitality companies is highly desirable.
- Experience within Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is considered an advantage.
