AVIONIC TECHNICIAN

About the Role

BAE Systems is seeking an Avionic Technician to join their team in Taif. This full-time role involves maintaining documentation and data standards for aircraft engineering and flight line servicing, specifically for the RSAF Typhoon Flying programme. The primary objective is to ensure aircraft are ready to achieve the Commander’s operational intent and that all engineering activities comply with approved data and associated regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform specialist trade maintenance activities or flight line duties as directed by the RSAF and line management.
• Ensure all continuing airworthiness and maintenance activities within the area of responsibility adhere to approved data and associated regulations.
• Verify that all engineering activity is covered by the appropriate delegated Engineering Authority.
• Maintain high standards for all documentation and data related to aircraft engineering and servicing activities.
• Ensure all personnel follow correct practices and observe safety precautions, complying with RSAF LMR and BAE Systems Operation Framework requirements, and preventing unnecessary risk exposure.
• Adhere to good husbandry practices by conducting post-maintenance reviews to ensure aircraft, tools, and equipment are returned to their designated areas in the required condition.
• Support the RSAF Safety program by maintaining high standards, participating in the RSAF FOD programme, and raising required safety forms (*, 1400-061) in accordance with the RSAF regulatory framework.
• Maintain effective communication and liaison with line management and additional management staff in the AGF.
• Manage personal administration, including reporting individual issues or sickness to line management, ensuring completion of return-to-work interviews, and submitting mandatory timesheets per company policy.
• Ensure understanding and adherence to the Safety and Quality Management System.
• Complete any other reasonable duties or requests from line management.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 3 years of post-qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment, supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training; OR 3 years on the same aircraft type; OR successful completion of the BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/TSNTTP).
• A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, a technical apprenticeship, or an equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA.
• Completion of the Typhoon Avionics Q Course.
• Demonstrated elementary knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering.
• Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety, and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role.
• Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) Registration.

Work Environment

This role is based in Taif and involves working within an operational flying aircraft environment, supporting the RSAF Typhoon Flying programme. The position requires adherence to strict safety and quality management systems.
