ARCS Technician Solar PV

About the Role

ACWA Power is seeking an experienced ARCS Technician - Solar PV for full-time opportunities within its Solar PV plants in Saudi Arabia. This role is responsible for the operation, inspection, and maintenance of Automatic Robotic Cleaning Systems (ARCS) to ensure reliable solar panel cleaning operations and minimize soiling losses. The technician will also focus on maintaining high equipment availability through both preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor robotic cleaning schedules and equipment status using ARCS control systems or SCADA to ensure successful completion of cleaning cycles.
• Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain robotic cleaning equipment and its associated electromechanical systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on critical components including motors, brushes, wheels, rails, batteries, sensors, charging panels, and docking stations.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, then repair or replace defective components to restore robotic cleaning equipment to operational status.
• Identify and escalate complex PLC, software, controller, or communication faults to the ARCS Engineer or OEM specialists.
• Support maintenance planning, spare parts management, and initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability.
• Update maintenance records, work orders, equipment availability, and spare parts usage through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards, permit-to-work procedures, equipment isolation, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 3-5 years of relevant experience in operating and maintaining Automatic Robotic Cleaning Systems or similar electromechanical equipment, preferably within a solar PV plant environment.

Work Environment

This is a plant-based position located at Solar PV facilities across Saudi Arabia. The role involves field-based maintenance activities focused on robotic cleaning equipment and various electrical/electromechanical systems.
