Job Description

About the Role

Luxury Collection is seeking a Banquets Manager for a full-time position. This role involves directing and motivating a team to provide high-quality service, ensuring all event requirements and standards are met. The Banquets Manager will oversee financial and administrative responsibilities, including asset protection, and facilitate clear communication among all stakeholders for successful event execution. The position requires 2-5 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project supply needs for the department, including china, glass, silver, buffet presentations, and props.
  • Apply knowledge of all relevant laws pertaining to events.
  • Understand the impact of banquet operations on overall event success and manage activities to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to and reinforce all established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain established sanitation levels and manage departmental inventories and equipment.
  • Utilize banquet beverage records to control costs and manage perpetual inventory.
  • Schedule banquet service staff based on forecasts and service standards, while maximizing profits.
  • Assist the team in developing lasting relationships with groups to retain business and increase growth.

Team Leadership and Participation

  • Set goals and delegate tasks to improve departmental performance.
  • Conduct monthly department meetings with the Banquet team.
  • Apply and continually broaden knowledge of food and beverage, including current event trends.
  • Act as a liaison to the kitchen staff.
  • Lead shifts and actively participate in the servicing of events.

Customer Service Excellence

  • Set a positive example for guest relations.
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints.
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service and ensure they understand expectations and parameters.
  • Strive to improve service performance and emphasize guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings.
  • Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.

Human Resources and Training

  • Communicate and execute departmental and property emergency procedures, ensuring staff are trained in safety protocols.
  • Observe service behaviors of employees and provide feedback.
  • Monitor progress and lead discussions with staff each period.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Review quarterly Meeting Planner Survey results and contribute to corrective actions to address service challenges, focusing on continuous improvement of guest satisfaction.
  • Attend and participate in all pertinent meetings.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a relevant role.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct and motivate a team.
  • Strong communication skills for effective liaison with various stakeholders.
  • Financial acumen for monitoring and controlling administrative responsibilities and asset protection.
  • Commitment to identifying training opportunities and developing strategies to achieve goals.
