About the Role

ACWA Power is seeking experienced Chemists for upcoming full-time opportunities within its RO desalination and CCGT power plants located in Saudi Arabia. This role is critical for monitoring plant chemistry, conducting essential laboratory analyses, and ensuring strict compliance with water quality standards. The Chemist will support safe and efficient chemical treatment processes to maintain the reliability and operational performance of the plants.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze water quality parameters, chemical dosing, and treatment processes to ensure adherence to operational and environmental standards.
• Oversee RO desalination chemistry, including feedwater quality, pretreatment, membrane performance, scaling, fouling, and product-water quality.
• Monitor CCGT plant chemistry, encompassing steam-water cycles, HRSG, condensate, feedwater, and cooling-water systems.
• Conduct laboratory testing, sampling, chemical analysis, and equipment calibration to ensure accurate and reliable results.
• Coordinate chemical treatment activities, including RO membrane cleaning-in-place (CIP), chemical preparation, and chemistry-related maintenance.
• Investigate chemistry deviations, troubleshoot chemical treatment issues, and coordinate corrective actions with Operations and Maintenance teams.
• Maintain accurate chemical consumption records, laboratory results, operational logs, and periodic performance reports.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, safe chemical handling procedures, Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS), PPE requirements, and environmental protection standards.

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 4-5 years of relevant experience in chemistry roles, preferably within power generation or desalination plant environments.

This is a plant-based position located in Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within laboratory settings and plant operations, focusing on chemical analysis, water quality monitoring, and safe chemical handling procedures.
