About the Role

Master-Works is seeking a Data Engineer to develop and manage a scalable, secure, and reliable data platform. This platform is essential for supporting analytics, data science initiatives, and various downstream applications. The role focuses on designing core data infrastructure, developer tooling, and self-service capabilities to enable efficient and safe data operations across teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the data platform and its core infrastructure.
• Develop reusable, self-service data pipelines and platform services for internal teams.
• Implement data orchestration, observability, and monitoring across the platform.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and reliability across systems.
• Define and enforce data platform standards, best practices, and architectural patterns.
• Integrate data from multiple sources, including APIs, databases, and streaming systems.
• Manage and optimize data storage solutions, such as data warehouses and data lakes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address data requirements.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the performance of data workflows.
• Implement best practices for data security, governance, and compliance.
• Document data architecture, pipelines, and processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience in building and operating data platforms or large-scale data systems.
• Advanced SQL proficiency and strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Strong experience with Informatica (PowerCenter, Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services, or similar tools).
• Experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
• Solid understanding of data lake, data warehouse, and Lakehouse architectures.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
