Draftsman Instrumentation & Control

About the Role

DAR Engineering is seeking a Draftsman Instrumentation & Control to join their team. This full-time role focuses on strengthening the drafting team by providing precise and detailed drafting work for Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems across Water, Plants, and Infrastructure projects. The position requires 2-5 years of experience and aims to ensure high-quality outputs that comply with project requirements, industry standards, and timelines, contributing to the successful execution of engineering designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings that meet established drafting standards, ensuring high quality and adherence to project schedules.
• Follow defined drafting guidelines, procedures, and industry standards consistently.
• Utilize advanced drafting tools, techniques, and software to produce accurate and effective designs.
• Complete drafting tasks within allocated timelines and man-hours (MHs), maintaining efficiency and quality.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in drafting and related fields.
• Ensure compliance with relevant Quality Management System (QMS) requirements for all drafting activities.
• Provide technical support and assistance to senior design team members as needed.

Drafting Tasks and Documentation

• Perform drafting, detailing, and scheduling work as per instructions from the Lead Engineer and Engineer.
• Assist the project team with project deliverables.
• Ensure timely production and quality of allocated work.
• Assist the project engineer in Bill of Quantity (BOQ) take-off.
• Responsible for printing and organizing submittals with required QMS documentation.
• Coordinate with office support for the completion of submittals.
• Record submittal delivery for assigned activities.

Support and Operational Accountabilities

• Provide assistance to Management, Manager, Lead Engineers, and Engineers in the development of project deliverables.
• Assist the Senior Designer in the development of drafting standards.
• Support day-to-day department operations when necessary.
• Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
• Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
• Provide periodic reports detailing deviations and execution of planned tasks.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in drafting, specifically for Instrumentation & Control systems.
• Proficiency in advanced drafting tools, techniques, and software.
• Ability to obtain updated soft and technical skills related to the job.
• Demonstrated ability to solve related problems and escalate complex operational issues.
• Commitment to ensuring quality requirements and developing effective quality control processes.
• Adherence to relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls.
