About the Role

وذرفورد is seeking a Field Engineer III – Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) for a full-time position. This role is central to the planning, execution, and optimization of Managed Pressure Drilling operations at customer well sites. The Field Engineer III provides advanced engineering expertise, operational leadership, and technical support to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable drilling performance, aligning with customer expectations, company standards, and regulatory requirements. This position serves as the primary engineering resource for complex onshore and offshore MPD projects, working closely with customers, drilling contractors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) operations according to approved engineering programs, operational procedures, and HSE standards.
  • Provide real-time engineering support during drilling, tripping, casing running, cementing, and other well construction activities requiring MPD.
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize drilling parameters, hydraulic performance, and pressure data to maintain wellbore pressure control.
  • Operate and oversee automated MPD control systems to maintain target bottom-hole pressure throughout drilling operations.
  • Develop engineering recommendations and operational adjustments based on real-time well conditions and technical analysis.
  • Support pre-job planning, hazard identification, risk assessments, and technical reviews with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Supervise the rig-up, pressure testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and rig-down of MPD equipment.
  • Coordinate field activities with drilling supervisors, company representatives, rig personnel, and service providers to ensure seamless operations.
  • Investigate operational issues and equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare accurate daily operational reports, engineering analyses, end-of-well reports, and lessons learned documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, customer requirements, API standards, and industry best practices.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior Field Engineers and Field Specialists.
  • Support equipment commissioning, new technology implementation, inventory management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain equipment readiness and support mobilization planning for upcoming projects.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by delivering high-quality technical support and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of oil and gas drilling experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience specifically in Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) operations.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting complex onshore and offshore MPD projects.

Technical Expertise

  • Experience in challenging drilling environments, including HPHT (High Pressure/High Temperature), deepwater, extended-reach, depleted reservoir, and narrow-margin drilling.
  • Proficient knowledge of Managed Pressure Drilling techniques such as Constant Bottom Hole Pressure (CBHP), Pressurized Mud Cap Drilling (PMCD), Mud Cap Drilling (MCD), and Managed Pressure Cementing.

Work Environment and Travel

This position requires a willingness to travel internationally and work rotational assignments in remote locations, supporting diverse operational needs.
