About the Role
Maaden Barrick Copper Company (MBC2) is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their team at the Mahd Adh Dhahab site in the Al Madinah region. Key Responsibilities
The Finance Assistant will be responsible for a range of financial processing and reporting tasks. Key duties include:
- Processing monthly payroll in compliance with company policies and Saudi labor regulations.
- Managing accounts payable transactions, including invoice verification, three-way purchase order matching, and supplier payments.
- Reconciling supplier accounts and resolving discrepancies with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Maintaining accurate financial records for payroll, accounts payable, petty cash, and supporting documentation.
- Preparing bank transfer files and ensuring timely and accurate payment processing.
- Assisting with month-end closing activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Monitoring exploration expenditures, drilling costs, and contractor invoices for accuracy and cost control.
- Preparing monthly cost reports, budget variance analyses, and supporting forecasting and budgeting activities.
- Supporting Joint Venture (JV) cash calls, financial reporting, and audit requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements.
Qualifications and Education
Candidates for this role should possess the following educational background:
- A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A professional accounting certification (partially or fully completed) is considered an advantage.
Experience and Skills Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in finance operations and relevant technical skills:
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting, payroll, accounts payable, or finance operations.
- Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Pronto, or similar financial systems.
- Knowledge of payroll processing, accounts payable, general ledger functions, and month-end closing procedures.
- Experience in mining, exploration, construction, or industrial environments is preferred.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- The capacity to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
Work Location and Type
This is a full-time position located at the Mahd Adh Dhahab site, within the Al Madinah region of Saudi Arabia, with proximity to Medina.
