Flight Simulator Technician (FSTD)

About the Role

CAE Inc. is seeking a Flight Simulator Technician (FSTD) to join its team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves establishing technical operations for Riyadh Air’s new training centre. The role offers exposure to advanced flight simulation technology and opportunities for professional development within the technical function.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks on flight simulators and associated systems.
• Assist in diagnosing and correcting technical issues affecting flight simulators.
• Utilize maintenance management systems to record and track activities.
• Complete all designated training activities.
• Conduct pre-flight and post-flight checks on designated simulators.
• Perform basic visual alignments.
• Run automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG) procedures.
• Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
• Comply with the CAE quality management system.
• Provide timely customer service support.
• Maintain simulator cleanliness and order.
• Perform logistics duties, including parts receiving, repair, testing, and validation.
• Complete administrative tasks as required.
• Support the technical services group as needed.
• Adhere to Health and Safety regulations within the aviation training environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• A 2-year technical degree or 4 years of experience in an electronic, avionic, or related technical field.
• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
• Proficiency in interpreting system prints and schematics.
• Competence in operating test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, signal generators, and logic analyzers.
• Knowledge of analog and digital theory.
• Computer literacy, including familiarity with PC and/or computer mainframe/architecture.
• Proficiency in soldering and circuit board repairs.
• Some knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.
