About the Role

Rosewood AMAALA is seeking a Hostess to join its team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to ensuring an exceptional guest experience, involving courteous greeting and escorting of guests, assisting with seating, and upholding the hotel's service standards. The Hostess also plays a key role in preparing the restaurant for service, maintaining cleanliness, managing reservations, and monitoring guest needs. This position requires 0-1 years of experience in a similar hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure daily maintenance of superior service standards across all operations.
  • Prepare station charts and assign stations to associates following departmental procedures.
  • Set up and maintain the cleanliness of the Hostess desk, reporting any supply shortages to the Team Leader.
  • Inspect and manage menus, ensuring cleanliness, designated amounts are available, and updates are made as changes occur.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and setup of the restaurant environment and entrance area, rectifying any deficiencies promptly.
  • Inspect tables and stations to ensure all setups meet department standards throughout meal periods, relaying deficiencies for correction.
  • Guide Servers and Bus persons in table setup needs to ensure optimum guest service.
  • Complete assigned closing duties efficiently.
  • Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations during the absence of a Manager or Supervisor.
  • Legibly document pertinent information in the restaurant logbook.
  • Maintain familiarity with the operation of the *** system and manual system procedures.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with Brand, Forbes, and LQA standards, supporting the direct supervisor in this regard.

Operational Knowledge and Standards

  • Proficiency in the Seven Rooms Reservation System for taking, recording, and confirming reservations/cancellations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of scheduled daily activities, in-house groups, daily house count, and hotel communication systems.
  • Detailed understanding of all restaurant and outlet operations, including hours, ambiance, menu selections, price ranges, and hotel features and services.
  • Thorough knowledge of all menu items, specials, unavailable items, beverage brands, and non-alcoholic selections.
  • Strict adherence to local regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated persons.
  • Knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, proper table set-ups, room capacity, hours of operation, and restaurant dress code.
  • Correct maintenance and use of all equipment, ensuring it is used only as intended.

Guest Relations and Service Excellence

  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times, exhibiting a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner.
  • Greet and acknowledge all arriving guests promptly and courteously, regardless of business levels.
  • Escort guests to tables, assist with seating, present menus, and extend congenialities in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • Anticipate and promptly respond to guest needs before, during, and after service.
  • Courteously accommodate all requests for information.
  • Communicate VIP arrivals and special requests to designated personnel for follow-up.
  • Handle guest complaints by following established six-step procedures to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and ensure that all aspects of service conform to departmental standards, notifying respective personnel for corrections.
  • Extend courteous departures as guests leave the restaurant.

Health, Safety, and Accountability

  • Take reasonable care for personal health and safety, and for the health and safety of others in the workplace.
  • Cooperate fully with the Hotel’s developed OSHMS policies, procedures, and operational work instructions.
  • Report any uncorrectable hazards, OSH incidents, or work-related injuries to the immediate supervisor.
  • Avoid intentionally or recklessly interfering with or misusing any provided equipment or safety provisions.
  • Participate in OSH-related planning and implementation to achieve hotel objectives.
  • Attend all required OSH training sessions arranged by the Hygiene, Health & Safety Manager.
  • Be accountable for adhering to the company’s OSHMS Policies, Procedures, Operational Work Instructions, and all relevant legislation.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess 0-1 years of experience in a similar hospitality role. A strong commitment to service excellence and adherence to operational standards is essential for this position.
