About the Role

Saudi Aramco is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer with refinery experience to join the Technical Support Team within the Global Manufacturing Organization (GM). This full-time role involves supporting the technical and business needs of GM Operating facilities. The position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience.

Role Purpose and Context

The primary responsibility of the Instrumentation Engineer is to manage instrumentation engineering aspects, including the design, development, installation, management, and maintenance of instrument systems across various Downstream facilities. The role also involves providing technical support for high-priority systems issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance, support, training, and expertise to plant departments.
  • Monitor instrumentation systems performance across all downstream departments.
  • Assess instrumentation performance and recommend improvements for system optimization.
  • Develop and maintain lifecycle management activities for instrumentation systems.
  • Establish auditing guidelines and perform frequent instrument audits.
  • Lead the development of new strategies and validate the feasibility of improving company productivity.
  • Ensure manufacturing knowledge is captured in the knowledge repository and continuous improvement is delivered by benchmarking and best practices.
  • Provide awareness sessions and lead technical exchanges and conferences.
  • Maintain instrumentation systems knowledge repository.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in Instrumentation and contribute to troubleshooting activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in refining, oil and gas plants, or petrochemical industries.
  • Proficiency in relevant oil and gas industry codes and standards, including API, BS, ISO, ASME, ANSI, IEC, ISA, and IEEE.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with various field instrument types and applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment

This role is part of a multi-disciplinary Technical Support Team that focuses on supporting the operational facilities of the Global Manufacturing Organization.
