Laboratory Analyst

About the Role

Sabil | سابل is seeking a Laboratory Analyst for its Yanbu Branch. This full-time position is within the Branch Quality Assurance Department and requires 0-1 years of experience. The role focuses on ensuring grain quality through meticulous sample collection, laboratory analysis, and adherence to safety and documentation protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure random and representative sample collection from various batches, stages (*, upon arrival, during storage, upon dispatch), and locations within containers and grain streams.
• Handle samples carefully to maintain grain verities for accurate analysis.
• Conduct grain-specific tests following established SABIL protocols and procedures using approved samples.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and grain sample collection analysis tools.
• Analyze data from grain laboratory tests and compare results against SABIL quality standards and historical data.
• Perform grain analysis pre- and post-evaporation to identify quality issues and implement corrective measures.
• Analyze stored grains to ensure quality is maintained throughout storage, aligning with SABIL requirements.
• Support and comply with all grain safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Data Management and Safety Procedures

• Document and archive lab analysis operations to provide insights, support quality control, and maintain future reference.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure continuous silo cleaning, preventing contamination, pests, and dust in alignment with SABIL regulations.
• Document all lab operations, particularly those involving chemical handling, including details of experiments, tests, and analyses to prevent incidents.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines for chemical handling, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring proper lab ventilation as per SABIL procedures.
• Ensure safe handling, use, storage, and disposal of chemicals, understanding their properties, hazards, and proper procedures before conducting analysis.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Biology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• 0-1 years of experience is required.
• Experience in the agriculture or food industry is highly preferred.
