Principal Engineer Solutions Architecture

About the Role

Dell is seeking a Principal Engineer, Solutions Architecture, to join its Professional Services team. This full-time role involves leading high-impact initiatives focused on Dell storage solutions, including Dell PowerScale and ObjectScale. The Principal Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end architectures and complex integration strategies within enterprise and AI-driven environments, contributing to the transformation of IT systems for customers.

Role Context

The Solutions Architecture team provides IT consulting expertise, focusing on solution customization, complex integration, and end-to-end delivery across various industry segments. Through consultation, analysis, and engineering, the team architects and delivers new IT systems or transforms existing ones to support customers' strategic, operational, and financial objectives. This role involves prototyping solutions, validating design patterns, driving ecosystem integrations, and ensuring non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, resilience, and security are met at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Create architectural designs and implementation plans for Dell PowerScale and ObjectScale deployments, with a focus on AI and data-intensive workloads.
• Lead data migrations utilizing native Dell and third-party tooling.
• Integrate Dell storage solutions with analytics, AI, and cloud-native platforms.
• Oversee the installation, customization, and integration of PowerScale and ObjectScale across diverse customer environments.
• Conduct design reviews, Proofs of Concept (PoCs), and performance benchmarking to validate PowerScale and ObjectScale architectures against customer requirements.
• Document reusable design standards and reference architectures for block, file, and object storage.
• Mentor other engineers in advanced design and delivery practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience: 5-10 years of relevant experience in solutions architecture or a similar role.
• Demonstrated expertise in Dell storage solutions, including PowerScale and ObjectScale.
• Proven ability to lead complex integration strategies and architectural designs.
• Experience with AI and data-intensive workloads.
