Introduction to the Role

SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Manager to join our team in a full-time capacity. This pivotal role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of contract management for complex, high-value projects within a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) environment.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will apply deep expertise in contract strategy, administration, and dispute resolution. This position requires a proven track record in managing contracts effectively within the PMC sector, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and potential risks are identified and mitigated early in the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, negotiation, and administration of contracts with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Provide strategic advice on contract structuring, procurement models, and commercial terms.
• Manage claims, variations, extensions of time (EOT), and dispute resolution processes.
• Liaise with legal teams and external counsel as required.
• Monitor contract performance and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support tendering processes, including drafting RFPs, bid evaluations, and contract awards.
• Prepare and present contract status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior contract administrators and commercial staff.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in contract management, with at least 5 years specifically in a PMC environment.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, and other international contract standards.
• Demonstrated experience in large-scale infrastructure, construction, or industrial projects.
• Professional certifications such as MRICS, MCIOB, or equivalent are preferred.
• Experience working with government or semi-government clients is considered a plus.

Essential Skills and Attributes

• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of regional legal and regulatory frameworks, particularly within the GCC/KSA.
• Ability to manage multiple contracts and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and commercially astute approach to work.
