Technician Painter

About the Role

Sheraton is seeking a Technician-Painter to join its team. This full-time role involves applying various finishes to property surfaces and furniture, ensuring high standards of appearance and protection. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in painting and finishing techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply paint, stain, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, and furniture using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.
• Prepare new surfaces for finish coats by applying primers or sealers.
• Remove old finishes through stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting.
• Cover surfaces with appropriate protective materials during painting and post relevant paint signs.
• Clean and properly store paint, tools, and equipment.
• Coordinate with vendors to modify colors of paint, stain, or varnish as needed.
• Adhere to all company and safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Protect company assets and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Support team members to achieve common goals and ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Capability to move up and down a ladder.
• Skill in grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Capacity to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
• Experience in applying paint, stain, and other finishes.
• Familiarity with surface preparation techniques.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position within the Sheraton team, requiring adherence to established company standards and safety protocols. The role involves working in various areas of the property, interacting with guests and colleagues in a professional manner.
