About the Tour Mechanic Role

ADES - Advanced Energy Systems is seeking a dedicated Tour Mechanic to join our team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to maintaining the operational efficiency of drilling activities by performing planned preventive maintenance, repairs, and servicing of all essential mechanical equipment and systems. The Tour Mechanic will operate with a strong focus on the safety of personnel, the environment, and equipment, contributing to maximized drilling operation efficiency. This position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Core Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Mechanics to identify and resolve mechanical issues through comprehensive tests, inspections, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Promptly report any equipment damage or faults to rig supervisors.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, equipment manuals, and technical documentation to address complex mechanical issues, implementing effective solutions to restore functionality and minimize downtime.
• Maintain an adequate supply of spare parts, consumables, and supplies to fulfill maintenance requirements and facilitate safe, efficient operations.
• Perform duties related to preparing the rig for towing, ensuring all mechanical equipment is correctly secured, and maintaining system integrity throughout the rig move.
• Ensure workshops and machinery spaces are clean, organized, and free of hazards before and after work tasks or repairs.
• Dispose of debris according to the company’s hazardous material segregation and waste management policies, considering environmental and safety aspects.
• Maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, third-party personnel, and Client Representatives.
• Record and report all mechanical maintenance activities, equipment inspections, repairs, and spare parts inventory in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Comply with permit-to-work and isolation systems.
• Develop and train Motormen, providing clear instructions regarding their duties, responsibilities, and necessary safety precautions.

Equipment Maintenance and Operations

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of equipment as per the planned maintenance schedule and as directed by the Senior Mechanic.
• Execute the maintenance, repair, and servicing of mechanical equipment on the rig, including engines, generators, pumps, compressors, cranes, and hydraulic systems, to ensure optimal performance.
• Assist in maintaining and repairing power plants and monitor power distribution, ensuring continuous power availability.
• Install new equipment in accordance with regulatory and company standards, including adherence to Management of Change (MOC) requirements.
• Utilize the Maintenance System for tracking, monitoring, and managing the maintenance and performance of equipment within the rig.

Qualifications and Experience

• Formal training as a mechanic, preferably through a multi-year apprenticeship or training program.
• Alternatively, time served in the oil field as a mechanic with relevant training certificates and references may be accepted.
• A minimum of five years of working experience in the mechanical field within drilling and workover operations.
• Working experience on offshore rigs is preferred.

Physical Demands and Certifications

• Ability to work outdoors under all extreme weather conditions, including exposure to noise, humidity, cold, and heat.
• Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Willingness to work day/night shifts, with a minimum 12-hour shift duration as required.
• Required certifications as per the ADES Training Matrix.
