About the Role

Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Company (SATORP) is seeking a Corrosion Engineer to join their team in Al Jubail, Eastern region. This full-time position involves implementing and managing corrosion control programs to ensure asset integrity within the Oil/Gas industry. The role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in relevant fields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement corrosion management programs and on-stream monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot and provide technical support for corrosion and asset integrity management.
  • Conduct risk-based inspections using API-580 methodology.
  • Review and approve recommended solutions for coating failures and cathodic protection.
  • Participate in HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) review sessions and ensure all issues are addressed.
  • Manage the water treatment program and recommend solutions to overcome challenges.
  • Review and support proper operations within integrity operating windows (IOW).
  • Review design packages and validate materials selection based on current codes and standards.
  • Validate corrosion controls, corrosion loops, and corrosion damage mechanisms frequently.
  • Assess feed composition changes and approve recommended solutions to assure asset integrity.
  • Develop the scope and description of technology items and lead field implementation.
  • Develop and transfer knowledge about the use of coating, cathodic protection, corrosion inhibitors, and other corrosion controls and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical engineering or chemical engineering.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience, with a strong preference for 15 years or more, in processing within the Oil/Gas industry.
  • Experience in material science and metrology, various NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) technologies and their applications, and knowledge in the engineering aspects of welding.
  • Preferably experienced in refinery corrosion/damage mechanisms and associated challenges.
  • Knowledge of international standards and codes, including NACE, ASME, API, and ASTM, with a focus on inspection and corrosion standards such as API-571, API-580, API-570, API 584, and API-510.
  • Hold a valid NACE Specialist Certification or NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist certification, or a combination of NACE Corrosion Technologist, API-571, and NACE CP (Cathodic Protection) Level II certifications.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia. Candidates must be willing to permanently relocate to Jubail.
