About Ma'aden and the Opportunity

Ma'aden, established in 1997, is recognized as one of the fastest-growing mining companies globally and the largest multi-commodity mining and metals company in the Middle East. We are instrumental in developing the mining industry as a key pillar of Saudi Arabia’s economy. We are seeking a Lead Specialist, Contract Services II to join our team in Al Jubail, contributing to our world-class, integrated mining value chain.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this full-time role is to lead complex sourcing and contract management activities specifically within the Phosphate Business Unit. The Lead Specialist ensures commercial excellence, robust contract governance, operational continuity, effective risk control, and strict compliance with Ma'aden's procurement policies. This position supports business objectives by developing sourcing strategies, managing high-value service contracts, leading commercial evaluations and negotiations, and providing essential contractual and commercial expertise to stakeholders to maximize value and mitigate risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing processes for complex and high-value service contracts, encompassing Requests for Quotation (RFQs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Best and Final Offers (BAFO), and award recommendations.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, challenging scopes, cost estimates, pricing structures, and business justifications to deliver optimal value for money.
  • Manage contract amendments, renewals, extensions, and change orders while maintaining rigorous governance, compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Provide expert contractual and commercial advisory support to various stakeholders and management levels.
  • Identify commercial, contractual, and operational risks, and develop comprehensive mitigation plans to protect business continuity.
  • Monitor supplier performance, contract utilization, and service delivery effectiveness, actively driving improvements in contract coverage.
  • Coach and guide team members to strengthen technical, commercial, and governance capabilities within the Contract Services function.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, approval notes, negotiation summaries, and management recommendations.

Required Experience

Candidates for the Lead Specialist, Contract Services II position should possess 5 to 10 years of professional experience in contract services, sourcing, and commercial management. This experience should demonstrate a proven track record in managing complex contracts and leading effective negotiations.

Work Setting and Location

This is a full-time role based in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will operate within Ma'aden's Phosphate Business Unit, contributing to a dynamic and integrated operational environment.
