About the Company and Role

Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, in partnership with Saudi Industrial Investment Group (SIIG) through Arabian Chevron Phillips Petrochemical Company (ACP), operates two 50/50 joint ventures in Al Jubayl, Saudi Arabia: Saudi Chevron Phillips Company (SCP) and Jubail Chevron Phillips Company (JCP). A third joint venture, Saudi Polymers Company (SPCo), is jointly owned by ACP and National Petrochemical Company (Petrochem). We are seeking a Process Operator to join our team in Al Jubayl.

Job Purpose

The Process Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining plant equipment to achieve company production objectives. This full-time role emphasizes safe, cost-effective, and reliable operations, aligning with daily operating plans and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with all EHS policies and procedures, applying risk control measures to ensure safe work activities.
  • Take responsibility for the safety of all personnel within the assigned work area, adhering to safety precautions, practices, and procedures.
  • Review new procedures with the console operator to ensure safe methods are applied and take corrective action for unsafe acts.
  • Operate plant equipment safely and correctly to achieve production objectives in line with operating plans and quality standards.
  • Assist in basic frontline maintenance, process sampling, and testing.
  • Support basic troubleshooting during all modes of operation, including process upset conditions.
  • Assist in preparing process equipment and work areas for mechanical, maintenance, and turnaround activities.
  • Monitor plant equipment performance and process conditions, including reading flow meters, temperature and pressure gauges, and taking routine readings on process variables.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures for all process operations.
  • Maintain close communication with the shift leader and head operator to ensure awareness of activities and status.
  • Develop and utilize knowledge for hazard identification and mitigation to effectively and safely prepare equipment for handover to Maintenance.
  • Follow up and implement the weekly PM/CM maintenance schedule.
  • Participate in Job Safety Analysis.
  • Adhere strictly to established environmental, health, safety, and quality policies and procedures.
  • Undertake accountabilities in the operational excellence process as outlined in the schedule of responsibilities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement processes for the assigned area.
  • Perform other relevant tasks as directed by the Shift Leader.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma degree required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in plant operations.

Required Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
