About the MS SQL Database Administrator Role

LTM is seeking an experienced MS SQL Database Administrator for a contract position in Al Jubail. This role focuses on the management and maintenance of MS SQL Server databases, ensuring their optimal performance, availability, and reliability across various environments.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain MS SQL Server databases in both on-premise and cloud infrastructures.
• Perform database installations, upgrades, and daily health checks utilizing SQL tools such as DMVs and DBCC.
• Implement and manage High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, including Always On and Clustering, with regular failover testing.
• Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, patching, and troubleshooting of database issues, including blocking, locking, and query optimization.
• Ensure database security and compliance, maintain documentation, and provide support for SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
• Participate in incident and change management processes related to database operations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher diploma in a relevant field.
• A minimum of 4 years and a maximum of 10 years of experience as an MS SQL Database Administrator.

Technical Expertise

The role requires hands-on experience with MS SQL Server database administration, including comprehensive knowledge of backup and restore procedures, installation and upgrade processes, and the use of diagnostic tools like DMVs and DBCC. Proficiency in implementing and managing High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions is essential. The candidate must also demonstrate strong skills in performance tuning, capacity planning, patching, and troubleshooting complex database issues. Familiarity with SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS is also expected.
