About the Role

Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Company (SATORP) is seeking a Petchem Process Engineering Manager to join their team in Al Jubail, Eastern Region. This is a full-time position requiring 5-10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage subordinates within the Petchem Engineering Section, including work assignment, priority setting, workflow monitoring, and results review. Develop yearly objectives and Key Performance Indicators for the team.
• Provide coaching and identify training and career development needs for subordinates. Manage personnel records, including timesheets, discipline, vacations, leaves, and absenteeism.
• Participate in the development of Process Engineering strategies and plans, ensuring necessary support and advice for effective implementation in coordination with relevant organizations.
• Ensure the continuous development and updating of the Process Engineering Strategy in alignment with SATORP's objectives and industry best practices, while maintaining compliance with HSEQ management procedures.
• Manage Technical Assistance for Petchem Operating Plants (Cracker, HDPE, Derivatives & Supporting Units), taking initiatives to improve safety, availability, productivity, and cost reduction. Coordinate performance testing, plant trials, and assist in troubleshooting plant issues.
• Stimulate subordinates and contribute to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in plant operations, processes, and practices. Initiate and guide studies for process improvement and bottleneck resolution. Advise on the implementation of new technologies.
• Manage and administer Technical Services Agreements with Licensors and lead the coordination of technical support programs from Licensors, Vendors, and Consultants.
• Oversee feasibility studies and modifications to enhance plant process safety, environmental compliance, and operations.
• Direct, review, and approve Process Engineering designs and detailed engineering works, whether performed in-house or by external contractors. Proactively manage technical milestone delivery, identify obstacles, devise contingency plans, and engage stakeholders. Ensure value-engineering solutions are incorporated.
• Approve the purchase of new process engineering tools.
• Support Business Development by advising on long-term Research Programs and participating in the conceptual stages of project development, including defining project scope and deliverables. Develop Statement of Requirements (SOR) and liaise for approvals, including CAPEX Gate2 approval files.
• Manage a study budget for long-term development (budget of approximately $4 million) and provide technical support to the Optimization Team.
• Stay current with the latest techniques and technologies in Petchem Process Engineering and participate in relevant conferences and exhibitions.
• Manage and coordinate all process engineering related tendering and contracting activities, including pre-tender meetings, technical tender evaluation, invoice review, and ensuring contract compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates are expected to have between 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in process engineering, with a strong background in petrochemical operations and management.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Jubail, within the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia.
