Senior Director Operational Excellence

About the Role

ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Al-Jubail is seeking a Senior Director, Operational Excellence to lead the company-wide Operational Excellence strategy. This full-time position, based in Al Jubail, involves defining, leading, and governing the framework and transformation roadmap to enhance organizational performance, productivity, and long-term value creation. The role focuses on deploying Lean Management, Continuous Improvement, and best practice methodologies across all functions.

Role Purpose and Context

The Senior Director will establish the Operational Excellence governance model, identify strategic improvement opportunities, and prioritize initiatives. A key responsibility is ensuring the effective execution of transformation programs that deliver measurable and sustainable business results. This role works closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Quality, and other business functions to embed a culture of continuous improvement and operational discipline across AMTPJ, maintaining a strong focus on strategy development, performance management, governance, capability building, and change leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the enterprise-wide Operational Excellence strategy, transformation roadmap, and governance framework to support AMTPJ's long-term business objectives.
• Define and institutionalize the Operational Excellence framework, including Lean Management, Continuous Improvement, and operational best practices across all business functions.
• Identify, prioritize, and sponsor strategic improvement opportunities that enhance productivity, efficiency, cost competitiveness, and overall business performance.
• Establish performance management systems, targets, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness and track benefits realization.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and Technology to drive operational transformation and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
• Identify value-creation and cost-improvement opportunities, ensuring measurable and sustainable benefits.
• Drive the adoption of best practices, standardization, and continuous improvement across the organization.
• Lead the integration of digital technologies, analytics, automation, and data-driven solutions that support Operational Excellence objectives.
• Monitor and report Operational Excellence performance, transformation progress, risks, and value delivery outcomes to the COO and Executive Leadership Team.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over 15 years of proven experience in developing and deploying Lean / Continuous Improvement strategies, performance improvement roadmaps, and governance frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional improvement programs and translating strategic objectives into measurable operational and financial results.
• Experience in steel, seamless pipe, tubular products, metals, heavy manufacturing, or other process industries is preferred.
