Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Offshore)

About the Role

KBR Saudi Arabia is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Offshore) to join their team in Al Khobar, Eastern Region. This full-time position requires extensive experience in electrical design within the Oil & Gas, hydrocarbon, and infrastructure industries, specifically focusing on substations, transmission, and distribution systems. The role involves leading a team of electrical engineers and designers through various project phases.

Role Overview

The Principal Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance for electrical engineering scope on medium to large-scale projects. This includes overseeing conceptual, FEED, and detailed engineering phases, ensuring design integrity, and managing project delivery within established timelines and budgets. The position requires a proven ability to lead and mentor a significant team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 10 to 20 electrical engineers and designers.
• Develop and manage discipline work plans for electrical engineering projects.
• Perform and check electrical systems studies, including analyses using tools such as ETAP.
• Prepare accurate work-hour estimates for project tasks.
• Develop electrical equipment sizes and specifications.
• Perform and check power systems analyses.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the project team and clients.
• Ensure the design integrity of the electrical scope, manage staff performance, and deliver work on schedule and within budget.
• Lead technical presentations to clients and their representatives as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design.
• Extensive experience in the design of substations, transmission, and distribution systems.
• Proven experience within the Oil & Gas, hydrocarbon, and infrastructure industries.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with large teams of electrical engineers and designers.
• Experience in Conceptual, FEED, and detailed engineering phases for medium to large-scale projects.

This is a full-time position based in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, within the Eastern Region. The role involves working as part of a dedicated team, collaborating closely with project stakeholders and clients to achieve project objectives.
