About Dar and the Electrical Design Engineer Role

Dar, a founding member of the Sidara group, is an international multidisciplinary consulting organization. Specializing in engineering, architecture, planning, environment, project management, facilities management, and economics, Dar operates in 60 countries with 20,500 professionals. We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Al Khobar, Eastern Region, on a full-time basis.

Role Overview

The Electrical Design Engineer will contribute to the design of electrical systems for various building and infrastructure projects. This role involves working under the guidance of senior engineers, gaining practical exposure to field conditions, and coordinating with other disciplines to ensure integrated designs. Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience and demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and develop within a professional engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the design of electrical systems for building and infrastructure projects, including medium voltage and power distribution systems.
• Perform basic electrical calculations under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Conduct site visits to gain practical exposure to field conditions and construction practices.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to contribute to well-integrated and coordinated designs.
• Assist in preparing quantity take-offs and supporting the development of Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with team members and provide regular progress updates.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BEng) or Master’s degree in Engineering (MEng).
• Minimum cumulative GPA of **** or **** (or equivalent).
• 5-10 years of experience in electrical design engineering.

Required Skills and Attributes

• Basic familiarity with AutoCAD and BIM tools.
• Understanding of international standards and the Saudi Building Code.
• General awareness of electrical design software such as Dialux Evo, generator sizing tools, earthing and lightning protection calculation tools, and photovoltaic (PV) systems.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop professionally.
• Ability to work effectively within a multicultural team.
• Demonstrates eagerness to learn and grow professionally.
