About the Role

Prolific is seeking fluent Arabic speakers with knowledge of Saudi Arabian dialects to serve as evaluators for AI training. This contract role is based in Dammam, Eastern Province, with a pay rate of $20-26 per hour. The project involves assessing the naturalness and authenticity of AI-generated Arabic speech and text.

Role Context

AI models are being developed to communicate with human-like nuance. To ensure these models accurately understand the depth and subtleties of the Arabic language, particularly Saudi Arabian dialects, fluent speakers are required. Your evaluations will directly contribute to the improvement of AI's comprehension of human language.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct side-by-side evaluations of text and voice snippets.
• Assess the naturalness and authenticity of AI-generated Arabic speech.
• Listen to audio clips and rate how natural the AI voice sounds.
• Identify instances where AI tone or pronunciation feels unnatural or culturally mismatched.
• Review content for contextual appropriateness of intonation.
• Provide feedback on the naturalness, tone, and authenticity of audio data.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Fluency in Arabic with a strong command of natural, everyday language.
• Knowledge of Arabic dialects common in Saudi Arabia.
• Ability to distinguish subtle differences in accent, tone, and vocal delivery.
• Fluent English for understanding instructions and reporting.
• High attention to detail.
• Access to a quiet environment and quality headphones/speakers.
• A PayPal account for payment receipt.

Project Details

This is a contract role where participants will complete paid tasks. Tasks require one hour of uninterrupted work, though many are shorter. Researchers typically offer between $20-26 per hour for these evaluations. Experience in linguistics or translation is considered a plus.
