About the Lead Engineer, Field Services Role

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Engineer for Field Services to join their team in Dammam. This full-time position requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience in field services, focusing on the installation, maintenance, and repair of motors and generator systems.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Lead Engineer will be responsible for the onsite installation of motors and generator systems, including ongoing preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration after installation. This role involves providing technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer sites. The engineer will also perform on-site installation, commissioning, refurbishment, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of Medium Voltage synchronous and induction motors, generators, excitation, and AVR systems, with knowledge of Medium Voltage Variable Speed Drives systems. Responding to emergency repair requests and maintaining a strong safety mindset to ensure work aligns with GE safety standards are also key aspects of this position.

Key Duties and Tasks

• Perform on-site installation, commissioning, refurbishment, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of Medium Voltage synchronous and induction motors, generators, excitation & AVR systems.
• Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives on installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance.
• Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services.
• Write technical reports, order materials, secure quotations, and prepare job status reports, customer reports, time sheets, and expense sheets.
• Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites.
• Maintain a strong safety mindset to ensure work reflects technical requirements within GE safety standards.
• Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and future reference.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university, with Electrical Engineering being preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of field service experience with medium voltage motors, generators, excitation systems, and commissioning of rotating equipment.
• Hands-on experience in electrical testing and commissioning of electrical rotating machines and drives systems.
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 80% of the time, as required.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position based in Dammam. The role requires significant travel to customer sites.
