Al Tuwairqi Group is seeking a Senior Slag Handling Operator to join our operations team in Dammam. This is a full-time position critical to maintaining efficient and safe processes within our industrial facilities. The role requires a dedicated professional with substantial experience in heavy equipment operation and industrial slag management.

Role Overview

The Senior Slag Handling Operator is primarily responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment within the slag handling section. This includes managing slag pit cleaning operations, ensuring proper slag transfer, and upholding stringent plant housekeeping standards. The role demands close operational coordination, proactive equipment preventive maintenance, and absolute adherence to all company health and safety policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery, including bobcats and forklifts, for road sweeping and debris clearing around the melt shop.
• Oversee the smooth and safe transfer of slag from the operational pit to the scrap slag pit.
• Ensure skull weight limits are safely managed before shifting materials.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance checks on equipment, including cleaning radiators and filters using air or fuel.
• Manage shift handovers effectively and verify manpower placement both inside and outside the pit.
• Coordinate closely with the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) crew prior to clearing gantry areas.
• Maintain rigorous cleanliness and housekeeping standards across the slag handling section, peripheral areas, and surrounding roads.
• Enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure the correct utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Implement the STOP safety program and immediately report any operational abnormalities or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.

Operational Focus and Coordination

This role requires a proactive approach to daily operations, encompassing not only direct equipment handling but also meticulous attention to operational flow and team synergy. The operator will be instrumental in ensuring that all slag handling processes are executed efficiently, from material transfer to equipment readiness, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
