About the Role

Calma is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Chief Accountant to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time role requires a professional with over 10 years of experience in accounting, ready to lead and manage all daily accounting operations and ensure financial integrity across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all daily accounting operations, including the accurate recording of journal entries and correct posting to the general ledger.
Prepare and review comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss reports and statements of financial position.
Manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely collection of dues and efficient processing and approval of supplier payment requests.
Conduct and supervise monthly and annual account closings, including reviewing ledgers, preparing necessary adjustments, and ensuring strict adherence to closing deadlines.
Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations, matching account balances with supporting documents and resolving any identified discrepancies.
Support the annual budget preparation process by analyzing financial data, reviewing actual expenditure against budget, identifying financial deviations, and proposing effective solutions.
Ensure strict compliance with established accounting standards (*, IFRS) and internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Manage and develop the accounting team, including task distribution, performance evaluation, and providing training on advanced accounting practices and internal policies.
Supervise the readiness of accounting systems and ensure the accuracy and integration of financial data across various departments.

Qualifications and Experience

A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
Strong practical experience in preparing comprehensive financial reports and statements.
Demonstrated expertise in managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Proficiency in adhering to IFRS or other approved accounting standards.

Required Skills

Advanced financial analysis skills.
Strong proficiency with ERP systems.
Comprehensive knowledge of taxes, Zakat, and other government obligations.
Ability to analyze aging reports and implement necessary corrective actions.
Excellent leadership and team development capabilities.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in our Riyadh office. The Chief Accountant will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of Calma, leading a dedicated team, and fostering a collaborative and compliant financial environment.
